Thankfully I'm not the only one that'southward ran into this effect but this is quite frustrating. And so if you're similar me and preloaded the game before release and unpacked the game this morning time, y'all may have been forced to redownload the entire game again despite downloading it once.

Patently downloading information technology the second time does piece of work but multiple users have reported this issue on the Steam Forums. It's pretty ridiculous because the download size is nearly 75GB's and near people similar myself don't have the best internet connection. Basically this is more of a PSA to those that preloaded the game on Steam, it'south besides been happening with the high resolution texture pack likewise.

Here's where the download was validating

And when it decided to restart, while most of the blame can be put towards your cyberspace I do actually call back some can exist put on Foursquare since Regal Edition on consoles has all the DLC and updates equally separate downloads.

Recollect of it this way, it would've not hurt to adopt a similar method and have some of the DLC be split downloads and so that yous can but install the base game and and so the DLC subsequently.

Man that really sucks, as a local, personal, electric current trouble, devoid of the larger evils of society. Only yeah, that would piss me off. Stop the downloadin'.

That is a huge oversight.
Especially people with bandwith caps.

Isn't that rather a Steam-problem than a FF15-Problem?

I remember when they delayed FFXV on consoles from September to November of 2016, they did it for the soul reason of the day one patch and game size. Honestly I think they should've done quondam similar have the DLC exist individual downloads.

I wanted to attempt this but the size is ridiculous. Dodged a bullet? As for the detail event, is it a case of Square pushing a incorrect version too early?

This is a Steam trouble. Has happened in the past. Their pre-loading is a adventure every time.

I recollect the argument, information technology didn't bring much in the finish.

The DLC should be seperately, I concur, especially if y'all are only interested in the primary game.

While I do remember this is by and large a Steam trouble, role of the arraign can actually be attributed to the massive file size. While they were able to fit everything including the DLC in that. The royal edition on consoles has all the DLC equally seperate downloads and I don't recall information technology would've hurt for them to practise the same on Steam and have the DLC non be required installs.

Alternatively, these are the type of issues that will be completely forgotten and never again brought up a week or and then after release. All this type of stuff happened when GTAV released on PC too I call back and there was out-roar over it.

Lasted about 48 hours.

Dude this only happened to me.

I've preloaded this shit, restarted steam because it said it was locked withal, and now its redownloading everything again.

I'm never preloading anything on steam e'er again, never had an issue on console but steam e'er finds a manner to fuck up randomly.

Await, why? My pre-load data were decrypted perfectly. No issue at all.

This is a Steam problem. Has happened in the by. Their pre-loading is a gamble every time.

Yeah, it happens when an update is detected during the unpacking process, which includes the add-on of DLC. Pre-load data is verified and unpacked on-the-wing, so if a patch or new information depot is detected, the procedure breaks down and doesn't consummate properly. It's probably something that could exist prevented by separating unpacking and verification so that the latter doesn't brainstorm until the erstwhile is complete.

It's more a less a YMMV state of affairs but this seems to be a bandwidth cap issues for a lot of internet providers and such. Although that's adept to hear information technology'southward working for you lot

Isn't that rather a Steam-problem than a FF15-Problem?

Depends if any changes were fabricated by Squenix that may have contributed. Can't recall the last game to take this issue, merely it turned out some users downloaded a version that was only briefly available or something, and whatever changes were kicking effectually then led to Steam re-downloading?

Seems I got through without issues. Well, just event was having 33GB free subsequently preload, just unpacking required more than space, then I got an bereft space warning. After unpacking it seems it just needed a couple of gigs extra for that procedure

thats terrible yes. i jsut installed the high res texture pack and now the game wont start lmao.

I think you can untick the "DLC" to get the game going once again if there is an outcome
Yes, it happens when an update is detected during the unpacking process, which includes the add-on of DLC. Pre-load information is verified and unpacked on-the-fly, so if updated or new data is detected, the procedure breaks down and doesn't complete properly.

Ah in that location it is. Figured y'all'd have the answer!

Aye it seems equally though it was a break down with the preload updating, currently downloading and then hopefully it will be proficient to go before long.
